On Page SEO Step 1 – Keyword in Domains

Putting the keyword in the domain is a very effective way to get your site good On Page SEO and indexed in Google.

For example,www.keyword.com is the best choice. Using loseweightfast as an example, your domain name would look like this: www.loseweightfast.com

The second best is www.keywordsuffix.com. Example: www.loseweightfastnow.com,

The third best is www.prefixkeyword.com. Example: www.whynot loseweightfast.com

On Page SEO Step 2 – Keyword in the URL

This is the next step to On Page SEO and to rank for your keyword when you are blogging and using your name in the domain name. I’m going to show you how it applies to your domain with your name in it.

The most common mistake is not using the correct permalink in your blog.

For example:  Use www.yourname.com/keyword instead of www.yourname.com/2010/10/?p=210392.html

Remember to always put the keyword in the URL

In your wordpress admin section, go to Settings and then Permalink. I use /%postname% as a custom permalink structure.

On Page SEO Step 3 – Page Title

Always put the keyword in the page title tag. When you posting content in your blog, start off by typing your title and remember to put the keyword in the title.

On Page SEO Step 4 – Heading Tags

Make sure you have your keyword in each of your header tags

For example, In your blog posts, you can use headings. In each heading, you can variations of the keyword.

Heading 1 can say “Lose weight fast with my system”

Heading 2 can say “How to lose weight fast

Heading 3   can say “You can now lose weight fast

All these are just examples, so they will vary depending on what you are writing about.

On Page SEO Step 5 – Keyword Positioning

Make sure that your keyword is in the first and last sentence of your website or your article. It helps Google find what your page is about, how relevant it is and creates good On Page SEO.

The keyword in your first and last sentence can also be a hyperlink (anchor text) back to content in your post. Pointing links to other pages of your blog that are relevant to your keyword is a good method for On Page SEO. It keeps people on your blog and is good when Google crawls your blog.

Step 6 – Keyword Density

Most people shoot for 3 to 5 percent keyword density for On Page SEO. I usually shoot for at least 3.

If you go over 5 %, it may look like you’re spammy and can hurt your rankings .

Keep it at around 3 to 5% and you’ll be good.  A good too to use for On Page SEO is Seo Pressor. It analyzes your content for almost all these steps.

You will want to sprinkle in some LSI (latent semantic indexing) keywords throughout your content. They are also referred to as long tailed keywords relevant to your original keyword.

Remember when I showed you lose weight fast as a keyword?

An LSI keyword would be lose weight fast now or lose weight fast in three months. It makes your content more relevant to what searchers are looking for and more relevant to Google.

On Page SEO Step 7 – Font Decoration

Font decoration can boost On Page Leverage

This is BOLD, Italic, and Underline

Google spiders actually analyze your pages for font decoration and even the pages that you point to for font decoration to check for relevancy.

For example, using font decoration on main keywords and LSI keywords boost rankings.

On Page SEO Step 8  – Keyword in your images

Another On Page SEO method is using the keyword in the image file names and alt tag. Google looks for your keyword in your images.

When you upload images to your WordPress blog, use the keyword as the file name and in the alt tag.

You will notice alt tags when you move your cursor over images online. The name will appear as your move over the image.

The keyword in the images can also rank you in the search engines under Google’s images.

On Page SEO Step 9 – Content Length

I usually shoot for 500 to 700 words, but this is what Google looks for.

Longer content is fine IF your content is not full with useless information.

If you elaborate more or show more illustrations, that is what they look for. You may get penalized for short posts or small amounts of content such as a 200 word article.

On Page SEO Step 10 – Internal and External Linking

Make sure that you use internal links and point them to relevant content on your site.

Use external links and point them to authority sites with content that is relevant

Internal links help your content get ranked much better when Google crawls your site.

External linking can improve page rank especially if the other high page rank site links back to you. Overall, both provide good On Page SEO for your site, help relevance and indexing.

The on page steps you have provided is really interesting. Yah that’s true content is not more then 500-600 words and also not stuff with useless information. If you are writing the content and provide link into the content ti would be called inbound link. Which means promote your another website page within one page… Thanks to share useful information with us….

Hi David, Tara,

I’ve just come across your website today, you’ve got some great stuff here!

This is a great post explaining some of the most important on-page SEO factors to consider. Recently Google made an update to its algorithm making ‘Exact Match Domains’ less powerful in generating good SERP positions. Well apparently anyway, I’m yet to see any EMDs fall from this yet so your first point still makes sense!

I’m working on my own detailed on-page SEO infographic at the moment, I’d love to share it with you guys when I’m done.

Cheers,
Josh

It’s genuinely very complex in this active life to listen news on Television, therefore I only
use the web for that purpose, and take the most recent
information.
